The Intention Of This Project

Our school and online community are designed to strengthen our connection both inwardly and outwardly with the earth, our healing traditions and with our true nature and potential as human beings.   There are many reasons people come to us to learn.  Some are seeking to further hone their practical knowledge as it relates to self care and supporting others.  For others, the goal is to find ways that deepen their relationship to essential wild  foods and natural medicines.

Others are following a deeper calling to become herbalists, botanical therapists, knowledge carriers, and ambassadors to the gifts of nature we call plants and fungi.  As well as other modalities of natural healing and ways that generate vitality well being.

It seems more and more of us are wakign up to the simple reality that without plants humans would have no healthy air to breath, food to eat, medicines, or historically even any clothes or shelter.  Not surprisingly, they also provide us with research backed medicine and healing on so many other levels as well.   As more and more people are seeking natural methods to heal and thrive we need plenty more well educated and passionate herbalists / botanical & holistic therapists in the field.

The Hollow Reed School

Our school is located in central Canada on the La Salle River, in the Province of Manitoba.  We are located on an old Christian monastery ruins heritage site, surrounded by medicinal plants, First Nations sweat lodges, and a Buddhist peace pagoda.  This is where we see our clients, teach, gather, and offer the highest professional quality natural remedies to our local community, as well as ship them across Canada.  If you want to learn more about our online store and consultation options please check out www.hollowreedholistic.ca

Integrative Herbalism Apprenticeship Program

We are all completely and totally unique in our calling, the challenges we face, and the gifts we carry.   However, there are foundational sciences and strongholds of deep rooted traditional wisdom that we can consider essential to effectively practicing the healing arts.

This is not just another online herbal course.  You will be spending quality learning time live with an herbal instructor, Chad Cornell, that has been practicing herbalism successfully for over 2 decades now.  Topics range from medicinal plants to fantastic fungi, from chakras and shamanism, Ayurveda, holistic anatomy, TCM nutrition, and emerging modern research regarding human health and herbalism. We focus on how to make remedies, create formulas, and to safely and respectfully harvest from the wild, understanding that the body is a garden, and the garden is a living body.

The world needs more well trained herbalists, and we want our students to grasp the true essence of plant medicine, and how to practically apply natural healing modalities in our lives and the lives of others with confidence, professionalism and authenticity.

A Living Tradition

Integrative Master Herbalist Chad Cornell has created a genuine and highly unique planetary herbalism apprenticeship program.  This 3 year apprenticeship program is designed for you to go at your own speed and emphasizes the importance of the student / teacher relationship as the foundation of the living tradition of herbalism.    Studying Herbalism is not just about information.  It's a journey of deep relationship with the innate intelligence of nature, our planet, cosmos, and ourselves.  It's learning timeless methods of non-linear ways of knowing and being that are endangered in our time.
